We boarded the 38051 Howrah – Haldia Local from Howrah & got down at Shaheed Matangini Station from where a 5 mins. walk took me to Tamluk Police Station of whose opposite is the Tamluk Rajbari. The Rajbari is in an abondoned & very sorry state. It has become a place for drinking & other addictions for local youths.
We came back to main road & boarded a Haldia bound bus & got down at Mahishadal from where a 5 mins. walk took us to Mahishadal Rajbari situated on a huge area of land, which displays the amenities once used by the Raj family forefathers who now lives in Kolkata for business purpose & visits occasionally. Places allowed to visit inside is their huge drawing room, a room consisting of few animal models, a room consisting of old amenities & weapons once used, bedroom, game room, etc.
Next we returned to the main road & boarded a Haldia bound bus & got down at Chaitanyapur & another bus to Bajitpur College More. The Muktidham Temple is situated right there. The timings of the temple I’ve given below
After spending some time sitting inside the temple, we boarded a Haldia township bound bus to Brajlal Chawk & another bus towards City Centre More. A few minutes walk took us to the City Centre Mall. Though it was Sunday afternoon, still there weren’t many people visiting the mall.
We skipped Balughata Sunset Point since we were short of time since we had to return that day itself, so we returned to City Centre More & boarded a Haldia Township Bus Stand bound bus. A 5 mins. walk from the bus stand took us to the Marine Drive which is a small elevated beautiful walkway along the Haldi river & many local people & tourists were seen hanging out along the river banks. Ships could be seen from here leaving Haldia Port.
How about sitting here watching the huge ships leaving the port ?
We were having a good time when I suddenly noticed a cow swallowing plastic food packets & paper packets. It disturbed me for a second & I saw plastics & paper cups all over the place looking filthy. Unlike the tasteless plants they eat, the salt in those food packets tastes good to them & they consume those paper & plastic food packets. And not only it harms them but also we humans consuming their milk or milk products or feeding that milk to our babies.
We boarded the last Kolkata bound SBSTC bus at 6pm from the Township Bus Stand located at a 5 mins. walking distance from Marine Drive & returned Kolkata. You can however stay for a day to avoid the tour being too hectic. It’s best to go in weekend holidays i.e. go on Saturday & return on Sunday. Few accommodation recommendations I’ve provided below.
